10.05.2012 |Solar atlas for the city of Hamburg released

The local energy supplier Hamburg Energie released the results of the solar potential analysis of the state of Hamburg in the internet. The calculation realised by simuPLAN based on laserscan data with a very high resolution up to 40 points per m². The classification of the dataset enabled the consideration of overhanging parts of the roof area and roof areas not available in the ALKIS data for the first time. This methodology enabled the calculation of the solar potential for all roof surface areas in the study area.
The analysis calculated an area of possible photovoltaic modules of 22 km². Hereby a yearly income of electricity of 2.500 GWh could be realised and 1.300.000 tons of the climate-damaging gas CO2 could be saved.

14.03.2012 |Solar potential analysis of the city of Solingen finalized

The solar potential analysis of the city of Solingen has been finalized. The results are presented on the following homepage:

In addition a special version of the solar cadastre was created for local craftspeople and specialists working in the solar business. Among other things an calculator to assess earnings was integrated, which consideres the current regulations of statutory feed-in compensation. By entering various parameters, like the plant size, the module-efficiency or the variable consideration of the electricity rate, the calculator can be adapted individually.

20.02.2012 |City-wide solar potential analysis of the city of Hamburg finalized

After calculating one third of the city area of Hamburg using a 3D city model in 2010, now the city-wide solar potential has been calculated using high-resolution laserscan data. The results will be published in the near future.

29.11.2011 |simuPLAN calculates the solar potential for the canton Tessin (CH)

After simuPLAN has determined the solar potential of some Swiss municipalties, simuPLAN now calculates the solar potential of the canton Tessin. In addition to the analysis on roof surface level, an area-wide radiation assessment with a resolution of 20m was contracted.

30.09.2011 |simuPLAN calculates the area-wide solar potential of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia

Due to the preparation of a Energy Atlas of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia simuPLAN calculates the solar potential area-wide. Background information on the Energy Atlas NRW can be found on the website of the State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection of North Rhine-Westphalia. The publication of the final report is scheduled for mid 2012.

26.08.2011 |New projects in Germany and Europe finished

During the past few months several solar potential analyses in Germany and Europe has been finished. Included are the cities of Bochum, Hameln, Bottrop, Hilden, St. Gallen, Locarno und Treytorrens to name but a few. As data basis 3D city models as well as laserscan data has been used.

10.02.2011 |Solar potential analyses in Swiss, England und France finalized

After a successful year 2010 in which diverse solar potential analyses have been realised, now 3 projects in Europe have been finalized. On the basis of 3D city models the solar potential of the Swiss canton Appenzell-Ausserrhoden, the city of Marseille (FR) and the city of Bournemouth (GB) has been calculated.
First results of the project in Appenzell-Ausserrhoden has been published in the internet.

29.10.2010 | simuPLAN calculates Berlin's solar potential

The city of Berlin decided to calculate the solar potential of the city roofs using the unique simuSOLAR method. For the first time the required input data was provided as a surface model derived from laserscanning data instead of a 3D-City-Model. The impressive results can be seen in the internet now.

08.04.2010 | simuSOLAR on the cover of the "Photovoltaik" magazine

In the April issue of the German "Photovoltaik" magazine the topic city wide solar potential analyses is presented. In this article the simuSOLAR procedure is discussed and a picture of the analysis for the city of Darmstadt even made it to the front cover.

08.03.2010 | simuSOLAR is partner of the campaign "Photovoltaics NRW"

"Photovoltaics NRW - solar energy for North Rhine-Westphalia" is a campaign of the federal state NRW and the resident photovoltaics companies. The initiative offers information about solar energy as an climate friendly way to generate electricity. As a partner of the campaign simuSOLAR resided at the collective booth of North Rhine-Westphalia at the "E-world energy & water 2010" which is the leading trade fair in the energy and water industries.

09.09.2009 | Solar potential analysis for the city of Darmstadt

The city of Darmstadt is planning to provide a web-based information system showing the solar potential on roofs. The required 3D-model will be created by our partner Aerowest and serve as a basis for the following calculcation of solar potentials with simuSOLAR.

27.05.2009 | simuSOLAR wins the Intersolar innovation award 2009

On the Intersolar 2009 the prize under the patronage of the Minister of Economic Affairs awarding outstanding innovations in the field of photovoltaics was confered to the cooporation partners simuPLAN and Aerowest. The jury complimented the AeroSolar procedure for its impressive combination of high resolution geodata and the detailed radiation model simuSOLAR. The jury highlighted the innovative implementation of solar potential analyses for single objects and city wide projects as well.
